What side of the GTA are you referring to? One hour from Mississauga will be different from one hour from Oshawa.

    Some recs:

Brunch at Millcroft is fantastic, i photographed a family birthday brunch there in the summer.
It's in Alton - about an hour from Toronto. Attaching photos of the Eggs Benny, dessert and a shot of the menu.

There's also the Ancaster Old Mill which apparently has lovely food and is at/near Hamilton.

If you're looking for dining + atmosphere, the Stone Crock in St. Jacobs is worth considering.

The food is pretty good but the nice thing is, walking around St Jacobs, just taking in the sites is a great after-brunch activity, particularly in the fall.

We were at the Millcroft in May for a family birthday brunch and it was really disappointing. The risotto was tasetless, the eggs benny only so-so and the service terrible. As well, there was a very unpleasant sulpher odour wafting up from a vent. All previous meals there have been super, so perhaps this was just an off day. The "pod' isa lovely room though it's often booked up .

I like EastDell Winery for a casual out of town brunch. Ask for a window table. The view is very nice.
