I will be at the Siversands hotel for a couple of days and am wondering if there are any good places to eat in the vicinity. High end or taco stand, doesnt matter to me...as long as the food is good. Im a big seafood fan so that would be best, but any great food around there would be greatly appreciated.

FYI, Puerto Morelos is 15-20 miles south of Cancun, so any recs in this vicinity would be fantastic.

El Pelicano on the water a stone's throw south of the fishing boat dock (not the ferry dock south of town) in Puerto Morelos has excellent ceviche, fresh fish, and broiled conch, maybe the best conch I have ever had in Mexico. It's been there a long time although hurricanes nearly leveled it twice.
Puerto Morelos has always been a fishing village, until the condo developers filled in the mangrove swamps and built the fancy marina and condos south of town. The annual fishing tournament in May almost overwhelms the town and is a lot of fun.
John Gray's Kitchen is the fancy place, and although it is not mexican and not fish-themed, it is very good.

El Pelicano does breakfast, also. It's a water's edge open air resto with a view of the sun rising out of the Caribbean, mexican coffee and eggs with a side of conch....it don't get much better'n that.

From Puerto Morelos to Playa del Carmen, where I live off and on, is all-inclusives for 30 miles, literally. Playa has a ton of options. Let us know if you plan a field trip there or beyond. I especially like Akumal. Highway 307 is a breeze now. Cancun is closer but was never my thing.
