Looking for a really quick place to eat within walking distance to the bus terminal. I'll only have about an hour and a half around supper time and would still need time to get on my proper bus and everything. I don't want anything fancy or sit down stye. Maybe a good pizza place or take out sushi or some good homemade burgers?

Lazzara's for pizza, Sandwich Planet for burgers and sandwiches, Shorty's for cheesesteaks. Pick a Pita for falafel and shwarma.

There is a very good Greek restaurant across from the Pt Auth on 42nd - Daphne. They have souvlaki etc sandwiches on their menu (and seem to be hurting for customers, which is a shame, since everything we've had here has been excellent).

Go, it really is very good. And dying from the location. People are nice, and the prices very reasonable ($20.00 for a beautifully-done grilled bronzino with potato and greens).

Haven't tried it but there's a place in the NYT building across the street called Schnipper's Quality Kitchen that reportedly has decent burgers etc. Not sure what its hours are but I'd go there....

Schnipper's makes a good burger, and I also like their sweet potato fries with maple dipping sauce. (you can grab a beer there if you are so inclined)
Decor--think of a very large, very clean White Castle.
