My periodic trips to Atlantic City would be enhanced by not having to eat the typical rest stop fare.Does anyone know of good casual lunch options between the Woodbridge area and Exit 38 of the Garden State Parkway?Good diners or even chain restaurants(i.e. Applebees) would be fine, assuming they are in the vicinity of the Parkway?Thank you all for your help.

Off exit 105, take the jug handle at the first intersection to head north on Hope Road, and you can find an Applebees and a plaza that includes a Chinese takeout place, pizza place, and a restaurant called Red Heads.

Exit 82, in Toms River, has lots of small (strip mall) restaurants immediately off the parkway if you head east onto Rt 37, including (I think) a diner.

Off exit 91 is an exceptional Mexican restaurant called Mexico Lindo.

I think the newer Lacey Road exit (exit 74?) will provide strip mall restaurants also.

Off Exit 109 (Red Bank) bear right into the town of Lincroft. A number of options along the main road.

At exit 105 you can go about 2 miles on rt 36 to the Monmouth Mall. There are several places right there:Chili's, Ruby Tuesday, Chipotle, Johnny Rockets, Fridays, and Bobby's Burger Palace at the mall, and a diner across the street. There are plenty of other places just north or south of the mall within a mile or so.

But the suggestions at 109 are better. Manow is great. And Saigon II now has Bahn Mei (sp?), i.e. Vietnamese sandwiches. I've enjoyed them a couple times.

Manow is great! Have not tried Saigon II. They are within the same block of each other, opposite sides of the road, Manow is also easier to get into and park.

Try the Lincroft Inn. They have a great bar, if you like eating at the bar, and a very nice dining room. Excellent soups.

i hate to respond to a question with a question, but why not eat before you leave or when you get there? i look forward to pulling into the borgata and eating a tony luke's roast pork italian. i certainly wouldn't waste a meal at a diner or chain restaurant when that's less than 2 hours in my future.

Grab something to hold you over at home before you go. When you pull into AC stop at Whitehouse Subs and pickup one of the best subs you'll ever have. You'll be proud to walk through the lobby of your casino hotel with that big greaser under your arm ( no offense to your husband.) lol

If you're feeling seafood, get off at exit 55 and head west to Route 9 South in New Gretna - Allen's Clam Bar has excellent fresh seafood and is easily accessible - a few miles south on Route 9 when you're done puts you right back on the GSP. Get the fried scallops and shrimp combo - you won't be disappointed!
