I would like to keep it under $120. As far as cuisine, Italian, American or Spanish/tapas would work.

Is there a separate entrance for Pipa or must you go through ABC to get to the restaurant?

Vintage Irving is a very nice wine bar/restaurant right off Union Square. They have ample vegetarian plates and salads on their menu. fits your price range.

Kajitsu is an intimate, special feeling vegetarian Japanese restaurant in the EV. They have a four course menu that is $50/person. Graffiti is another good EV choice, although it is very tiny. Perbacco for Italian small plates in the same nabe is a great spot too.

I would suggest Giorgios of Grammercy. GREAT date place and a wide selection.
