I see that Costco has these single burner 1500 watt induction cooktops in stock in the Greater Toronto area stores again. I am interested but wondering if anyone has used them and can comment. I have read good things about induction cooktops but they are still relatively rare in Canada. Any comments would be appreciated.

This used to be available at Canadian Tire, but apparently no longer. I wonder why?

Some Home Hardware stores also have it, if that is more local.

I have used induction burners, but only in the UK and not this model. The models in the UK are higher power so the comparison is not entirely valid.....

They are excellent. Safe, fast, efficient, controllable. Provided you have the budget ceramic induction burners are the de facto standard there. Eventually that will be true in North America as the price of the technology continues to drop.
