Unless there's been a major overhaul, I'd do Shadowbrook for cocktails/wine and maybe an app for the ambiance, but dinner elsewhere. The Reco for Cellar Door looks intriguing.
Oswald has reopened, they were the long time favorite before their relocation.
I recall hearing some good things about Aquarius Restaurant in the Dream Inn. Just found the firsthound report:

I'm going to guess that you are looking at a restaurant for dinner. The classic that comes to mind is the Shadowbrook, in Capitola.

I've not been a fan of Santa Cruz eateries which always appear mediocre.However I am excited about Bonnie Doon Vineyard Cellar Door Cafe,a collaborative effort of Randall Grahm of Bonnie Doon Vineyards with menu consultation by David Cinch of Manresa in Los Gatos.Charlie Parker,Cinch's/Manresa former sous chef is the executive chef.I've not been but am looking forward to.May be a nice gift:
