Have been frustrated with finding any good basic thai to order in in Brookyn Heights. I live at the St. George, and none of the Smith Street places (Joya) will deliver to us. We're not particulary adventurous when it comes to thai food - really I'm just in the mood for a good pad thai.

Over the years have sampled the two Montague places, Rice in Dumbo, and a fairly new place on Court St whose name I can't recall. Of all of them, the Court Street place came closest to a good pad thai. I actually used to order from the pan-asian (Chinese/Japanese) place on Clark Street before it moved, and their pad thai was surprisingly solid.

Alas, this is a serious problem. There is no good thai or any good asian food in the Heights. I am afraid you will have to go to Queens. Sripraphai and Chao Thai are both simply amazing. However neither of them has a stellar pad thai. Still, it anything would be better than the options you mentioned. The pad thai at Rice is horrendous.

LANTERN THAI on Montague Street has very good Thai food. They use very fresh ingredients, the seafood dishes are always good. The Pad Thai is quite nice.

I have tried pad thai in the hood from Joya, Em, Sesame, Lemongrass, Cafe Chili, Lantern, Sea (which closed a few months back), and Ghang. They're all moderately OK, I think Sesame is my favorite. Overall, I'd stick to Em and Ghang for regular thai dishes, and just have somewhat low expectations because despite being a dozen or so options, none are special.
