Well, Arizmendi/Cheeseboard remains my favorite. IIRC, you favored Casa Latno last year. Here's my list of what I've tried to date

Mi Tierra has 2 sizes. I had the small with sugar sprinkling, almost cake like and $1.99, so far, this years winner.

To avoid dealing with links, the MT you linked to on San Pablo only had one type this afternoon. It was brioche-like. Oddly enough, it was almost exactly like the donut I had this morning at that poplular pizza place on Telegraph this morning which is located near an upscale Mexcan market and a bakery run by an Australian couple. If I see a damn link, I'm going to spit ... spit, spit, spit ... I need to remove the link to a place called Pizza Place in Walnut Creek ... and the damn editor capitalized pizza place.

You know, I think you have something about this being the winner in that category of dead bread. I'm having the rest for breakfast this morning and there seem to be a pleasant orange peel flavor to it.

Arizmendi is just a different type than no one else makes that I know in the Bay Area.

I've seen it at Las Montanas in Concord, for those of us that live in Central CoCo.
