Just found out we will be in Alexandria Monday. Best place for lunch in the Old Town?

Do you want a good lunch or a special lunch? For a good lunch, go to Red Mei, BGR Joint, or Columbia Firehouse.

Since we will only be there for lunch I thought somewhere nice would be good! I have onoly driven through Alexandria, never stopped to eat there. But we are making time this trip to have lunch.

Restaurant Eve! They have an amazing "Lickity Split" lunch special. $13.50 for two items off the lounge/bar menu. Mon-Fri 11am-4pm. A fantastic deal, especially since this place is such a high-profile restaurant with an otherwise higher price tag!

The Majestic Cafe, same owner, has a similar deal for a little less, also if you sit at the bar--I think it's called the Royal Pick. Nice selection of food.

Definately majestic - Nice without being stuffy and my favorite of the 'nicer' selections for lunch.

Great food for the Lickety Split lunch, just be forewarned that reservations are strongly encouraged and seating is only at the bar or at coffee tables in the bar area. Food is tops.

I didn't realize that Eve took reservations for the LS lunch. When I've gone, I just walk right into the bar and take a seat if open, after telling the hostess or host that I'm there to eat at the bar/lounge. Was never asked if I had a reservation.

When I've been, it's been a first-come, first-served for the Lickety Split. Dining solo has been easy to get in, but in 2+ groups, there's usually been a wait, from 5 minutes to half an hour, depending on how busy it is that day.

Ditto to the LS lunch at Eve. If you go a little later, it's easier to get a spot for more than one person. If you're solo, you shouldn't have much of a problem. If you're in a fish and chips mood, there's also Eamonn's on King St. (same owners as Eve and the Majestic).

Are these restaurants right near each other? Where are they located?

Restaurant Eve is at 110 S. Pitt Street (near the intersection of 400/500 King and Pitt). Eammon's is on King and Columbus, which is about 4 blocks west.
