Any Grand Central/Midtown East recs for dinner?

Desperately need a good spot for dinner. Tired of the usuals.... am I missing anything new and noteworthy?

I hightly recommend La Fonda de Sol, located behind Grand Central, on the street level of the MetLife Building. It opened earlier this year and seems to be traveling beneath the usual culinary radar. We recently had lunch there for the first time and were extremely impressed with the delicious food, as well as with the very comfortable, attractive dining room. You can see the photos I took of the meal and the space here:

I have need of the same - looking for a decent restaurant, not too expensive (under $40/pp), for a large (up to 12) group on a Thursday night in mid-town. People are staying at 43rd and Vanderbilt or taking the train from Grand Central.

What are your "usuals"? Which restos do you like? Price range?
Al Bustan opened again just last week - on 53rd betw. 2nd & 1st. Haven't tried it yet, but it's both "new" and "known".
