Reasonable lunch near George V metro

Hi,

I will be meeting my friend for lunch next week near the George V metro. Any suggestions for a reasonably priced lunch - wine bar, cafe, or simple restauarant.

Le Bistro de L'Oliver is a few blocks away;it is relatively cheap, at least for the lunch menu. Provencal emphasis. There is always the the steak/frites place ( no reservations accepted), also on Marbeuf.

Agreed but also 350 meters away I had a fine lunch yesterday at Le Charbon Rouge, 25, rue Marbeuf in the 8th, 01.40.70.09.99, open 7/7 with a plat du jour at 15, forced, 3-course menu at 23,50 (salmon yesterday) and a la carte about 40-50 E. Our bill was 86.60 E with wine and coffee - a terrific buy.
