Visiting NYC for the 1ST TIME. WHERE SHOULD I EAT....PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

MY BF AND I ARE VISITING NYC FROM LA FOR THE 1ST TIME. I LOVE GOOD FOOD WETHER FROM THE STREET TO A 5 STAR RESTAURANT. I'M GAME......WHERE SHOULD I GO??????

    1. Carnegie Deli is famous and popular (you can view the menu online, anywhere in Little Italy....best hot dogs are at Papaya King.... depends what you're looking for :)

                      I was in NYC this week from DC and had a great time at the Gramercy Tavern and a superb meal at Scarpetta. See the above link posted by davr73 for details.

                2. I think you should focus on things you can't find in LA.

                  Go to Anyway Cafe at 2nd and 2nd. Modern Russian. Only about seven tables. Anything from jeans to a tux is ok here. Very funky, very Manhattan. You will not find anything like this where you are. Things start picking up there about 9pm. Smoked trout, marinated beets with walnuts, osetra filet, peasant style beef.

                    1. Most memorable from my last visit to NYC was Toloache. KILLER Mex. Worth seeking out.
