Dining in Wilmington,NC/Wrightsville Beach are

Can anyone offer restaurant suggestions for the Wilmington, Wrightsville Beach, NC area? It's been five years since I've been and going there this weekend. October 29-31. Thanks in advance for the help.

  1. As always, do a search and you'll find lots of suggestions. Also, some information on location, price and cuisine preferences will help you get better answers. Some places that I like, or have been frequently recommended on here are Circa 1922, Catch, Caprice Bistro and Port Land Grill for nicer dining, and South Beach Grill, Salt Works and Trolley Stop for more casual.

Thanks for the reply Dawg. Price doesn't matter really. Fine dining or a dive is fine. I know my wife wants to go to Elija's to see if the seafood chowder is still as good as it use to be. I also liked Jerry's on the Wrightsville Beach Causeway the last time I was there. No chains though. I'll pass of BBQ on this trip and save that for B's and Pete Jones. I used to live in Greenville and still visit frequently and I know where to find good Que in ENC.

Amy's Burrito Barn for fun and tasty.
I'll second Caprice Bistro, downtown. Real deal French bistro.

Those would be my two picks, as well.

The salsas at Amy's are particularly good but it is not the kind of place you want to go for a nice evening out. Great for a casual, quick meal.

Charlotte's loss is Wilmington's gain, with Caprice Bistro. They do a very nice job with a style of food that seems, sadly, to have gone out of favor over the last 20 years.

Tower 7 on Wrightsville Beach is a nice little hole in the wall (good fish tacos). Jerry's is still there, and still fabulous. Sweet and Savory (on the right about 1/4 mile before the bridge) is also a good spot - particularly for breakfast.
