Ma Bourgogne

We (me, husband, 8 year old son) will be in Paris over Christmas week and we're staying right in the Place des Vosges. I had been thinking that Ma Bourgogne might be a good choice, particularly our first night, as it's so convenient. I'm not expecting the most amazing food in Paris, but sometimes there's a lot to be said for convenient.

But I'm confused since there are very, very recent posts here referring to its location in the Place des Vosge and that's also where guidebooks seem to think it is. But their website (www.mabourgogne.com) only shows an address on Bd. Haussmann.

Can someone straighten me out?

The place that Soupie likes is at 19 Place des Vosges; personally, I think it is god awful, with service to match, but the bar is OK. Try Cafe Hugo.

I have to agree with Oakglen about the food, although not the service. Last time I went the young waiter was delightful. But that may have been because there was an attractive young woman (his age) in our party, and he was flirting with her while providing us all with good service.

I does have a great location and a very nice building. I suspect if you stay with the simplest foods you may do fine. My salmon coulibiac (not simple) was in the "awful" category.

It's easy---there are two. One at 19 place des Vosges and the other on Bd. Haussman pretty close to the Jacquemart-Andree museum.
