Italian, French and Fusion in London

I will be living in London for the next couple months and am looking for some great Italian, French and Fusion (French-Japanese or the like) places for a higher-end lunch or dinner with friends (40₤ pp before the wine). Though ambiance is important, food quality is the priority. Additionally, any recommendations for more modest tasting menus (50₤ range) would be greatly appreciated. I am living in central London but am willing to travel anywhere around the city for some great food. Cheers.

I am not 100% sure of this, but I think Pearl is a French/Asian fusian restaurant. I'm sure someone will let us know. The chef is well known, and it's someplace I've wanted to try for awhile.

Just based on its GFG listing, June - which I think is self-determined by the restaurant.

That said, Hibiscus is listed as French but clearly isnt. Guess it's difficult to categorise once you get away from the classics of a national cuisine.

I usually think of "higher end" as places listed in the Good Food Guide with a cooking score of 6 and up. Here's the listings for central London:

      FRENCH:

      Alain Ducasse
      L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon
      Galvin @ Windows
      Helene Darroze at the Connaught
      La Gavroche
      Pied-a-Terre
      Square

      ITALIAN:

      Murano
      Theo Randall
      Zafferano

You might also be interested in these similarly scored British or "modern European" places:

      Corrigans Mayfair
      Greenhouse
      Hibiscus
      Marcus Wareing
      Maze
      Sketch
      Wild Honey
