Best Tapas in San Antonio???
I did a search for Tapas in San Antonio from previous posts...did not find much...I will be there by myself this week for a conference in the Riverwalk area...don't like chain food and don't like touristy stuff...won't have a car except the first day...but cabs are not a problem...and budget is not an issue...just good food and wine...$5 or $100...any help would be great...
Any tips on live music venues would be great as well...
Thanks!

Bin 555 on W Bitters Rd in Artisan Alley. Executive Chef Jason Dady is absolutely amazing, I regularly visit all of his restaurants (5 in San Antonio so far)

I am a foodie and have lived in SA for a little over a year and have tried hundreds of restaurants in the area. This is still my favorite after a year.-----

re: bronwen
Can't believe I left out Las Ramblas. I've been wanting to try them again after Brian West (Cafe Paladar-so sorely missed!!!) took over the kitchen. Last time I checked, menu hadn't changed.

Take this list http://www.urbanspoon.com/f/39/3847/S... with a grain of salt. El Tapatio de Jalisco????? From the places listed, I've been to Carmen's,
Espana Bar de Tapas, Copa, and Bin 555, none of which are accessible from downtown without a car. If it's a pleasant sit-outside evening-Bin 555 is hard to beat (no music but great new sous chef PJ!!), Copa has best BTG wine list and occasional live music. Carmen's has live music but the neighborhood has parking issues.›1 Reply
