Pizzeria Picco report
Finally got around to trying this place for lunch today.
Appetizer of meatballs in tomato sauce was tasty, nice herbs, though the meatballs weren't as hot as they should have been.
We shared three pizzas among five of us. I guess I liked the daily special bianca with pancetta, garlic, and broccoli raab or something like that the most. The "specialized" pepperoni and sausage and the "della santa" with broccoli di ciccio were overloaded with toppings and got a bit gloppy in the middle. Overall, I thought they were all underseasoned, and the crust didn't have enough flavor.
The Straus soft serve with olive oil and salt was a nice combination. I liked the texture of the ice cream.
Overall, if I happen to be nearby and craving pizza, I'd go again, but I wouldn't go out of my way.

When you check "This is a review of a specific restaurant," the link appears under Places Mentioned in the right column, but not at the end of the post.

Just wanted to say that I stopped in here today (am visiting SF from Chicago, though am originally a New Yorker) for a pie and loved it. We had the "Klein" which was pizza with two kinds of olives, rapini, tomato sauce, mozzarella. Really excellent crust with a nice char and a good chew. Salad was also delicious (especially those radishes! I love your California produce) and ended it all with the vanilla soft serve from Strauss. Thanks for the recommendation!

I have had some wonderful pizza's and some uneven ones. I do think the Strauss soft serve is really good with rasberries and the olive oil/salt combo is more than the sum of it's parts.
