I LOVE chimichangas (deep-fried burritos) but I have a hard time finding them at local Mexican restaurants (I think they're not authentic). Anybody know of any places in the Valley/NoHo/Burbank that has great chimichangas? Thanks.

While I haven't had one at Rusty's Hacienda in NoHo I've seen them on their menu. Really? You're having trouble finding them? Most any Mexican-American place that I've ever been to seems to feature them.

There are places in Arizona that claim to having invented it. Seems there's a story about accidentally dropping a burrito in the deep fryer ...

Yeah, I too enjoy chimichangas... and a good one is hard to find... Honestly, I enjoy the minichimi's (chicken) at a small chain in Orange County called Don Jose's (also affiliated with Ricardos). They serve like 6 small ones...along with a dollop of sour cream and one of guac. They're the right amount of fried... the filling is moist shredded chicken, a red sauce, and what I think is a cheddar/jack blend. I know it's not exactly in that neck of the woods..... but if you're in OC, check it out. The chips and salsa they serve are delish... and the service is usually very prompt. I go there often when I visit my Mom.
