Steak and Seafood, Ft Lauderdale - Need Recs

  • Share

This weekend my husband and I are celebrating a huge achievement in his professional career. He would love a good steakhouse but I'm not much of a porterhouse fan. I'd love to find a nice place that offers great steaks and other choices equally as delicious. I don't think Steak 954 is an option for us - price-wise. Want to stay in Ft Lauderdale area. Any suggestions are welcome - thanks in advance!

  1. There is Jackson Steak House on Las Olas

Or Try 3030 Ocean at Marriott Harbor Beach, it has amazing seafood - They also have steaks and chops on their menu Not to mentiion Chef Dean Max is a James Beard nominee and voted Best Chef in South Florida (2006)

    1. Jackson's is closed but I second 3030 Ocean.
Steak 954 is great if you can do it. I had a very good ribeye recently at the new Morton's in Ft. Lauderdale. Livelier scene over at Capital Grill.

Bova on Loa Olas....great steaks and lots of other goodies to choose from.

Although it's a chain, the Capital Grille is fantastic. The bone in Kona Coffee rubbed Sirloin is one of the better steaks I've had. It's a little less pricey then 954 Steakhouse but not much.
Bova is more of a scene. Their food is average.

I haven't tried Bova yet but I think they are more expensive than or equal to Steak 954.

Bova is expensive, but so worth it. The steaks are wonderful and the other mains that we have had were really good. It is a scene late at night, not at the normal dinner hour.
              The service is spot on.

        2. Thanks all for your suggestions. I think I'll look into 3030 Ocean. I've never eaten at Bova but have had cocktails there. The whole decor really turned me off - all that white made me feel like I was in an operating room. Going to look into Capital Grill too, that Kona Coffee Sirloin sounds right up my husband's alley.

You can't go wrong at 3030. Great resto.

          2. i'd go to Morton's over Capital Grille. also, if you're on a budget Morton's almost always has a 2/$99 deal going. here's what I pulled off the website. In my experience, the service has been top notch at the Ft Lauderdale location.
