My mom is craving an Italian rum cake for her birthday and I need to find a great Italian bakery (like you would find in NE Philly!) in South Palm Beach. Is that possible? Thanks!

There's a great little Italian bakery originally from New Jersey on Federal in Deerfield Beach just south of Hillsboro. We really enjoy their rum cake and Italian cookies and they make a killer cannoli cake as well.

The absolute best Italian bakery in PBC is Palermo's. The address is 140 North Congress Ave, Boynton Beach. It is slightly south of Boynton Beach Blvd on the east side of the street. Go there. You will not be disappointed. Phone: 561-737-8500.

Mona Lisa Coal Fired Pizza on A1A at the beach in Deerfield. On same side of street as Flanigan's & Whales Rib. Amazing Italian pastry, cakes. New in the Deerfield area...from Brooklyn, NY. Original bakery still operating in Brooklyn
