I've been trying for a long time this morning to access a particular thread ( http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/661329 ) and all I was getting was the round-and-round loading message...and then I'd get a "Problem loading page" message. ETA: And even this message continues to go round-and-round as if it was still trying to post, but when I finally overrode the loading of the message and hit the MYCHOW button, the post was there. ETA something else: What I'm seeing in the lower left hand corner are the following: "Waiting for maps.google.com" and following that (and causing an even longer wait) is "waiting for sensebing.com" So it sounds like whatever background stuff that's been added (sensebing.com?) is causing the site to slow to a snail's pace. When I do get somewhere that I can actually click on something, I am also seeing the "transferring data from maps.google.com" message and the forever-spinning icon. Everything slows to a crawl the minute I sign onto chowhound and I've had to do multiple restarts. Almost every other Chowhound page comes up with an internet error. And all the other stuff ... non stop spinning icons, blank white pages, and sloooooooow response ,... glacial response time ... and at times no response time. Click a link and nothing happens. Edit: Add to that having trouble editing. The loading message hangs. I have to exit the post and come back ... which doesn't always work.
