Special Dinner on a Monday

Any thoughts on where to go (or avoid) for a special dinner on a Monday night, preferably somewhere between downtown Boston and Arlington and environs? I've heard people say that restaurants do not bring their "A-game" on Mondays after a busy weekend, but is that true?

    1. It can be true. Many chefs are off on Sunday and Monday, and many restaurants are closed on one or even both of those days. I'd go with Rendezvous, Oleana or Upstairs on the Square.
