I've been looking for English Worchester Sauce, which is made without corn syrup. None of the major supermarkets have it, nor does [Cost Plus] World Market, at least not the Lakewood store. Has anyone seen it? I'm in Long Beach.

Try spelling it Worcestershire Sauce, and maybe look for it in Indian markets--they tend to have English products. Also, there are some English markets around that might have it. Tudor House in Santa Monica comes to mind.

re: picawicca's comment, the proper spelling is Worcestershire. unfortunately all the Lea & Perrins sold in the US contains HFCS. look for Annie's Naturals vegetarian variety and add your own anchovy...or get someone in Canada or the UK to send you the good HFCS-free stuff.

Considering there are 5 calories in 1 tsp. of Lea & Perrins I'd consider it a non-event.

calories are most likely not the issue for the OP. some of us prefer not to consume HFCS, and corn is also a common allergen.

Sorry about the spelling; I was in a hurry and did not proofread. GHG is right. Calories are not an issue - I try to avoid HFCS when possible. The suggestion to try Indian markets is a good one and since Long Beach is close to Artesia, distance is not an obstacle.
