I tried the new burger place in the Western Addition last night. Not bad but I wasn't very impressed and would not rush to return. They're going for a kind've gourmet burger type of thing and serve Niman Ranch Meats. I ordered a cheeseburger cooked medium with cheddar cheese and a side of Onion Rings. I also had an Amstel Light (draft) for a grand total of $15. The burger seemed like it was a frozen patty which I find unappealing, the texture wasn't right and the flavor was lacking. It was served on a bun which I felt was a little too big and overwhelmed the patty which is quite a feat considering it's a half pound. Self serve condiment bar is nice. The onion rings seemed like they could have come from a package, not sure but I wasn't particularly impressed with those either. Again nothing was bad just not worth the price considering I could have eaten at Burgermeister for a similar price point (minus the beer) or just gone across the street to the Bean Bag and had a better burger (albeit smaller) for much cheaper (if I could only get a seat).

So... anyone else tried the Burgerhaus? Opinions?

Been in twice since it's around the corner from my house. Ironically I don't eat burgers, but my BF does. I think they've definitely got some kinks to work out. The first time I went in, they got my order wrong (ordered sweet potato fries but got regular fries--didn't realize till I'd left) and they almost forgot the egg on my made-to-order salad. Second time I went in they were out of fries entirely(!) and I discovered that the list of possible ingredients for the salads, sitting on the counter where you order, doesn't actually represent what you can get on your salad. I agree that the condiments bar is nice, and the salads are a good size for the price. BF said the Kobe beef burger was good but he wouldn't spend the money on it again. Hopefully as Acme settles in it'll improve.
