Best Chinese food in Markham?

What are your opinions? My husband and I have to head up to Markham, and I thought we could have dinner while we were there. I'm sure there have been posts about this, but I couldn't find any of them.

Thanks all!

Are you restricting the inquiry to Markham, or are Scarborough and Richmond Hill OK too?

Markham preferably, but could do Scarborough as well.

Casa Imperial on Steeles in Scarborough is quite good.

Charles Yu is the resident expert on Chinese food - you could search through the threads that he has posted on... Here's one of the more recent ones:

Assuming you are looking for 'Cantonese cuisine'. Sticking to only Markham, I would either go to Wu-Yi Villa , Casa Victoria or Casa Imperial.
It is hard to define the 'Best' since every restaurant has a few signature dishes that very often out-shines its competitors! O'Mei is a fine example. The giant lobster 4 ways might be super impressive and brilliantly executed, but I do find some of their other dishes only on the OK side.

Whenever we have a car rented we try to make an exodus up to Ding Tai Fung on Highyway 7. Was just there last Sunday and the have had some renovations since last visit. Food is brought out steaming and super fresh, no dim sum carts rolling around. If we lived in the area would gladly try the other places but find it impossible to pass up Ding Tai Fung when we only get up there a few times a year and love it so much.

Charles Yu should be able to give you a better idea of other places but wanted to give a heads up on one of my fave places in the GTA.

Ownership for Empire Court has changed, the hotel now has taken over ownership. The former head chef has left, he has retired from my understanding.
