I'm trying to eat locally as much as possible these days and am realizing that it's about to get a lot more difficult as the farmers' markets close for the year. i'm looking to you for your favorite local food resources - cheese, milk, meat, bread, honey, whatever else you know and love. i'm willing to drive within a half hour of worcester, more if it's really good :)

Milford/Amherst NH has a few places for beef and pork. Plenty of honey too. I know there are farms in Groton, as well as the Blood slaughterhouse for meat. If the trip to NH is worth it for you, let me know and I will give you addresses to the farms if you'd like.

Well, it's long drive from Worcester, but the Farm Fresh RI's winter market on Saturdays in Pawtucket was great last year and with all the success I can only imagine it will be even better this year. Starts in just a few weeks. While driving 45+ min to "buy local" may be a little absurd, it's certainly worth a stop if you're in the area.

The Farm Fresh website is also a good resource for locating local food all over southern New England.
