awful thai

Thai house in Ardsley Ny, once again its worth the trip into queens.
My second and LAST time here, i gave it another chance on a cold rainy night.
I ordered a som tum(green papaya salad) ..awful..more carrott that papaya which is a huge mistake, bad balance of salty/sweet/sour..
I ordered the satay,,awfull.,dry string meat, skippy flavored peanut sauce..phathetic..close em down.
I ordered a Hor Mok Talay, having been and lived in thailand for 7 years im told that id a restaurant has this on there menu, it knows what its doing in the kitchen.
this was not hor mok..it was a GLOPPY mess of some shrrimp and scallops in what is supposed to be a red curry sauce..think...seafood custard/souffle..if done right its phenominal.
portions..miniscule..STAY AWAY.

I've had decent Thai, by Westchester standard, at Tangerine Thai in Tuckahoe. I've been there 4-5 times but not recently. It's a good substitute since I don't have to drive to the city or Queens.

I like the Tangerine Thai in Tuckahoe. It's a bit off the beaten path, but I've enjoyed the lunches that I have had had there. Especially, the appetizers, the curry, and the pad thai.

sorry to hear about your bad experience. teeboy, I am a Thai novice, only having it a handful of times, so I don't really know how things are supposed to be served so could you give me a heads up on a good Thai restaurant in Westchester??
Just read some good reviews on urbanspoon on Tana Thai Restaurant in New Rochelle, what's your thought on that place?
