India Treat market and restaurant in Lomita

I stopped by this place over the weekend to check it out since it's fairly new. It is a Indian market/buffet similar to Bombay Grocery down the street but much newer. I tried the chole and bhatura for $5 which were both very good. I also had a samosa fresh from the kitchen that was very tasty and the dal was absolutely fantastic. My son was addicted to the fresh roti and the mango lassi.

Check it out if you live in the area.

    1. That's the old space for PCH Chinese -- pretty big place from what I remember. Can't wait to see it!

        1. Is one or both of those vegetarian? I did see a sign that said 'Indian Vegetarian' and I would like to confirm for a veggie friend. TIA!

They are both vegetarian. However, I believe Bombay Grocery serves one meat dish.

bombay grocery used to be really vegetarian, now it is 'mostly' vegetarian.

                2. Made it over there today for lunch - had the buffet, reasonably priced. It was too spicy for me, but my son loved it. Didn't help that I had a headache - I will probably enjoy it more another time.

The big news to report is they have dosas - plain and masala (potato filled) - the owner explained that the chef was formerly at Udupi Palace! They were yummy!
