Tips for Dining, Eating and Food Shopping in the New England

Moving to Avon CT next month

And I need your recommendations for pizza and chinese food! I can find plenty of recommendations for "regular" restaurants in the area, but not so much pizza or chinese. My husband and I both prefer thin crust New York style pizza. Thanks!

    1. Joe Pizza in Canton and Little City Pizza in Simsbury.
Not sure where you are moving from, but you can drive to Manchester and get Frank Pepe's. Worth the drive and the wait in line every once in a whilw

We like Green tea in Simsbury for "everyday" Chinese and Meadow in Simsbury for higher end Asian.

        1. I like Lena's in Simsbury for pizza (two locations) but they have changed hands recently and I haven't been there under the new management. I also like Joe Pizza.
For Chinese, I would have to say that when you find a good local restaurant, let me know and I have been in the Farmington Valley for 15 years. Green Tea is ok. Chang-An is HORRIBLE!!!! I would not feed it to my dogs. Meadow in Simsbury is ok, but the food is not worth the attitude that accompanies it.

            1. Harry's Pizza at Bishop's Corner in West Hartford has a great eggplant pizza. Harry's Pizza in West Hartford Center has a agreat pepperoni pizza. If you like a good pizza with fresh mozzarella and a good sauce, go to Luna's in West Hartford Center. All of these pizza's have a thin crust.

                1. Joe Pizza in Canton for pizza and Green Tea in Farmington for Chinese. For sushi, Feng's just opened in the Canton Shoppes and if it's anything like the Hartford Feng's you will not be disappointed.

                    1. Thanks everyone, those will all go on my list!

                        1. I'll second the recommendations, and urge you to take the drive to Manchester to check out Pepe's. There's also good pizza across from the Farmington Country Club off Rt 10 at Naples pizza.
