Anyone remember the danish family bakery?

BamiaWruz Oct 17, 2009 01:58 AM

There was a bakery years ago called "danish family bakery" or something similar to that, it was located where the cocoberry cafe is now in mississauga (dixie rd)

Does anyone know what happened to them and if they moved or still exist? They used to bake a lovely apple strudel with custard.

I don't know that place, but if you're looking for nice danish stuff you could try the Danish Pastry Shop on Pape north of Danforth. The folks there also might know what became of the place you remember. (Long shot, but with only a few Danish bakeries in town you never know.)

I agree with checking out Hansen's Danish Pastry Shop on Pape Ave. They have excellent, rich strudels and (I believe they call them butter buns) that come in a tin tray. They have almond custard/paste in many of their danishes/strudels which I find absolutely addictive.

Call ahead though, I can't even remember how many times I've gone by to pick something up and they've been closed for some reason.

They are closed on Sundays and Mondays and for most of July and January.
