Attention Chowhound Administrators

Check posts for inappropriate words

  1. The Chowhound Team Oct 16, 2009 07:45 PM

As noted, the fastest and best way to get our attention when there is a problem with a post is to hit Report at the bottom of the post, and submit a report. Not just something as obviously problematic as spamming boards (regardless of content), but if anything seems "off" about a post to you. We look into every post that is reported, and consider what action is appropriate to the situation.

There is no way we can read all the posts on this very busy site, and it can even take a bit of time before we cycle through to Site Talk posts, so we really rely on posters' reports to help us out.

Thanks to all who chimed in with reports about tonight's angry poster. As always, we appreciate your help.

this person is doing it again right now-- trying to take advantage of the posting lull while everyone's attention is glued to top chef. this one has a serious chip on his/her shoulder, comparing the mods to hitler. sad.

We are on it, but if you use the Report link, we see your report sooner than shdn we find your reporting it here.

I can see that the mods are on this outbreak. For future issues, you can use the blue "report" button that's in the lower right hand corner of a message to notify them. That's a much faster way to get their attention.

Thanks. I was alarmed and didn't stop to think of that. How could you tell the mods were on it

And they're gone. Watching them get zapped in real time was almost as interesting, though not nearly as scary, as watching balloon boy yesterday.

                  Yes, it was very surreal.

We survived the great Weiner Post Bombing of 2009!! LOL!

(BTW, you mods were great in getting rid of all that spam in a quick manner! Thanks! )

Well, I guess Octoberfest is in full swing!

          2. Honeychan Oct 16, 2009 06:57 PM

Connie, I think the mods are frantically trying to figure out how they got bombed with so many of the same posts, and deleting/fixing as best they can. I think they are a bit overwhelmed, to say the least. If these stay up for more than 15 minutes, i'll be surprised.
