La Perle?
I know it's been around for awhile... Is it good? Is it any fresher than a buffet?
I HATE buffets, will I likely find La Perle disgusting too?
Any other A la carte suggestions? I know Hot N Spicy is also A la Carte..
Which is the best?
Thanks

Unless they have changed in the past year, La Perle is not really a buffet. They have a buffet style menu, but you order the dishes you want and that is what they make. You may order as many dishes fro the set menu as you like and you can always add. so, unlike a regular buffet, the food doesn't sit there.
My parents always used to go there for lunch... it was their favorite spot. I found the food decent enough, although rather generic. I am the type of person who usually avoids buffet places, and I do not classify la Perle in that league... the food is much better.

re: Andria
Have you, by any chance, tried the Peking duck? It says on the on the menu that you have to order it 36 hours ahead. It also says on their website that some of their chefs are from Beijing. That sort of gives me hope that they do an actual Peking duck and not a Cantonese BBQ duck served Peking style. I'd like to try it, but I'm having a hard time trusting a place that has listed in a menu titled "Szechuan" a bunch of Chinese dishes that have nothing to do with Sichuan cuisine. But one can still hope, can't they?

re: BLM
If the place in question is La Perle in the West Island, their site appears to be:
Restaurant La Perle
4230, boul. St-Jean, local 109
Dollard-des-Ormeaux
Tél. : (514) 624-6010If it's a different La Perle, can you specify where it is?
