NYC dinner in the rain tomorrow

browndog888 Oct 16, 2009 06:48 AM

I'll be in NYC just tomorrow and need some restuarant help. I'm fine for breakfast and lunch but I need some dinner suggestions for two people who will be tired and cold (and probably a little wet) by that time. We will be in casual clothes (i.e. jeans) and since we have no hotel to change or clean up at we will probably be a tad disheveled by that time. So, we're looking for a lounge type place where we could sit in some large comfy chairs (a fire would probably be welcomed by then) and have a few cocktails and some good food. One of the spots I was looking at was Aspen. I've wanted to go the last several times I was in the city but just didn't make it. Not opposed to hotel lounges either where we could just relax and not feel pressured to leave. Any help or suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!

The Campbell Apartment is cosy, I think they've got a fire. Then you could eat at Michael Jackson's - the open air thing and being in Grand Central makes it a bit more casual.

Actually, it's Michael Jordan's Steak House, although the idea of a Michael Jackson themed restaurant has intriguing possibilities.

Oh I feel like a twit now, of course I meant Michael Jordan but you're right a Michael Jackson Steakhouse might be very popular .............

What about Bookmarks in the Library Hotel? I got it off the website for Campbell's Apartment and it looks cozy but not quite as stuffy. Anyone been there?
