I've searched the threads for some particular ones, like indian, and know that most CHers opinions of buffets aren't too high.
but, i like buffets only because they offer such a wide variety of foods, i love being able to have so many choices! Especially with food that I've never really had much experience with before, like Indian for example. or a restaurant that offers buffets at all, like i know Taj offers the lunch buffet etc.
Can anyone recommend their favorite buffet places? could be indian, chinese, japanese, french, brunch, you name it. oh and please don't forget to put buffet pricing :)

Haven't been and it's said to be more cafeteria style than buffet, but you might give Thali a try. One thing's sure: it can't be worse than Maharaja.

I tried Thali recently and it was great. I had low expectations for Indian in downtown but this place is on par with the joints in Parc-Ex; it completely blew me away when I saw an older lady bringing out pots full of curry from the kitchen and refilling the trays. That's why everything was so tasty and well balance... someone's auntie is cooking up a storm!
It is cafeteria style and the servings are adequate (not hearty for big eaters) but you get to choose 3 curries with rice, naan and pappadum.
As far as I'm concerned, it's not even in the same galaxy as Maharaja!

Thali is awesome, and you get to choose your 3 mains, so it's almost like a buffet.
