ANy recommendations on where I could buy good old fashioned jewish (and certified kosher) rye bread in NYC?
Fairway has excellent rye bread. Bread Alone also has some good breads, the packaged ones are kosher. Also try Zaro's bakery in Penn Station.
I haven't been in a while but Zabar's used to carry a good, kosher rye. For old fashioned, it's hard to top Moishe's on 2nd Ave.
Israel Beigel rye bread is excellent. You can get it on the Lower East Side at East Broadway on Grand bakery- Grand St off Essex . You also get it packaged around the city, although I don't know where.
