Central Park Tea and Brunch

Hi, I'm planning a day around central park for a group of visitors.

I'm looking for a nice hotel lounge area were you can sit and relax or enjoy a cup of tea around central park - possibly with a view of the park. Nothing extravagantly expensive. Your help is appreciated.

Don't bother with a hotel, go to The Boathouse in Central Park -- great place in the heart of the park. http://www.thecentralparkboathouse.com/ Enter at 72d St. (Fifth Ave. is closest, but also accessible from CPW). Great during the fall!

not a hotel, but you could try bouchon bakery in the time warner center (the restaurant area not take out area), and have tea and pastries there. You will have a view of columbus circle and the entrance to the park. But it does get very crowded at lunch so you may want to go at an off-time for a more relaxing experience.
