    1. Depends on the purpose of the dinner. For food, Anisette is the better choice. For atmosphere, probably Boa--the decor at Anisette is an attractive recreation of a classic French bistro but Anisette has tiny tables and is usually crowded and noisy.

        Totally agree.

What are you looking for? Awesome steak, sides & super Tuscans?? BOA. Great martinis too.

Rather have a loud, boisterous, lively French bistro experience with oysters on the 1/2 shell and champagne? No doubt, Anisette. Prolly has better desserts too, but I don't usually order those.

      2. Anisette hands down. It's a fantastic french brasserie -- however a little loud.

        1. Can't imagine the reason for the competition - steak is steak and that is about the only thing Boa is known for, beyond atmosphere, yet Anisette has more atmosphere of a different kind, yet way better food.
If your definition of "special dinner", might be referring to something romantic, well, then Anisette probably gets disqualified, as it is a noisy French Bistro, exactly as intended.
