Will be meeting family for dinner and need to know which, if any, restaurants there are now
open. I know, I know, no one but turists should eat on the Boardwalk, but the "family" likes it.
Anything I should know before I agree to this?
Thanks Texas 'Hounds
Everythings open since Ike. I personally haven't gone since Landry's took over, but you might consider Outriggers on the Seabrook side. It's right on the water, and while not great, I would consider it an upgrade, plus you can always go to the boardwalk and not eat, maybe grab a drink.
re: James Cristinian
I went to Babin's after Landry's bought it but I had no clue. After my meal arrived I questioned the server about the blatant difference in quality and was informed Landry's owned it now. I have not been back. It wasn't bad but for the price it was not somewhere I would return. There are plenty of better places.
I used to love Babin's but since Landry's bought it, they are taking short cuts and you can't do that with cajun food or it turns out not so great. I haven't been in a year or more but I used to like the Pappadeaux's which is on the other side of the bridge. They have really good creme' brulee. Landry's is not worth the money any of the time's I've been there nor is Joe's Crab Shack. Cadillac Bar and Grill is pretty good mexican food and kick butt margaritas. Considering Landry's bought up all of the restaurants on the Boardwalk, what you like at another location (Babin's) may be a bit different on the boardwalk. If you are going on the weekend, be prepared to walk. The parking lots fill up very fast.
