Romantic restaurant in SoHo or Village

My husband and I are celebrating my 50th birthday with a visit to the Rock N roll Hall of Fame annex and nice romantic dinner. Need to have a good steak on the menu for my husband but I eat everything! Would love some suggestions!

Perhaps Peasant on Elizabeth Street (about 5 blocks away from Mercer) would be a good choice. They have bistecca alla fiorentina on the menu. I find the atmosphere to be quite romantic especially in the cooler months.
