Horlick's Malted Milk?

Querencia Oct 12, 2009 03:41 PM

Has anyone noticed a source of Horlick's Malted Milk in Chicago? I can order it online but the shipping costs as much as the jar of Horlick's so I'm looking for a local vendor. Maybe a health foods store? Thank you.

Horlick's, the pride and joy of Racine, Wisconsin is hard to find in Chicago? Oh, how the mighty have fallen?

It was my favorite growing up. Do notice that i don't see it anywhere now.

I FOUND HORLICK'S MALTED MILK. Wikipedia said the country that consumes the most of it is India so I went up to Devon Avenue and found it at Patel's, $4.99 for a big jar.

Excellent. I will have to make a trip to Devon too.

Any of the Chinatown grocery/supermarket stores will carry it too.

Thanks. It is certainly worth tracking it down locally as a British groceries place online wanted $6.99 plus another $6.99 shipping and amazon.com wanted around $7 shipping for a $3.50 plastic bag of the stuff. The $4.99 at Patel's is for a 400-gram jar, nearly a pound, and you can ship it home yourself in your shopping bag.
