having a Christmas party in Calgary, can anyone recommend a decent (not to pricey) caterer for a cocktail xmas party. Nothing fancy is needed.

They maybe more than you are looking for but Devour Catering did a very good job for me this summer.

A couple of other suggestions....Infuse catering are very good....but give Main Dish a look too. They do catering and although I haven't used them for their catering services, I do find their everyday pricing to be very reasonable and their food is good.

Question about Devour: Are they only catering big events now? I used them a couple of years ago for a rehearsal dinner and approached them again recently for a smaller event, and I was, shall we say, rebuffed. But, they didn't say exactly why they couldn't do my event.

Hmm, that would be too bad if they are only doing big events. Perhaps it is a recent policy as they did a cocktails/dinner buffet party this past May at my place for about 25 people.

Sorry, it just occurred to me that 25 people could be considered a big event. I had in my mind a big event of 100's of people.

Try Great Events. Mrs Scary has used them for office events-about 30 people-and has been very happy.
