My sister wants a brunch buffet north of boston..

mcel215 Oct 9, 2009 07:11 PM

Okay, it's out there.

I went to Wentworth By the Sea for an amazing brunch a couple of weeks ago.

Now, my sister wants us to go to brunch around here, but not at $37.00 dollars a person.

Any help? I went to the Lord Wakefield a few years ago and it was putrid. Is there
anything out there, besides a high end/price brunch?

Thanks guys. She wants to go Sunday.

I've searched and search. I live in Woburn, she is in Stoneham. If there is anything in Somerville, Cambridge or north of Boston that is good, I'd really appreciate it.

For a buffet there is the Westford Regency. You'll need to call on price, but I believe it is around $25-27/person. You are about 35 minutes away, coming from the Woburn Stoneham area.
For a very good and very funky breakfast try The Friendly Toast in Cambridge or Portsmouth. You'll need to get to either location on the earlier side, as there can be a wait that goes out the door, crazy, but it's worth it.

Thank you for the info on the Westford Regency. Although, it seemed a bit high for my price range, I called them. And to my delight, the new cost for Brunch is 19.99 for adults and 10.99 for children.
I'll report back. I am sure it will be nice for my sis and I.

          Thanks ginger,

My sister and I went there today. It is a lovely room, well presented and a pianist too.

Here is what was on the menu today: Everything we had was excellent, but the ziti and the salmon looked dried out.

The room was set up in stations for the most part, but the waitress brought coffee, juice water, mimosas if you wanted any. The price was $19.99 and we thought for the amount of food you could have, it was an excellent deal.

          Big Strawberries
          Cheese(s), smoked gouda, cheddar
          Caeser Salad
          Regualar Salad

          Carving Station:
          Roast Beef
          Roasted Turkey

Omelet Sation - The choices were endless and fresh looking.

          Breakfast Station:
Belgian waffles with either blueberries or strawberries and cream

          Eggs Benedict
          Roasted potatoes (not homefries)

Shrimp and Pate table (assorted veggies, olives, capers, mustards)

          Luncheon Station:

          Fresh roasted assorted veggies
Chicken breast in a citrus sauce (orange)
          Beef and Mushrooms
Salmon in a creamy wine sauce with capers
          Baked Ziti

          Dessert Station:

All kinds of cheesecake (5 different)
          Dark Chocolate Mousse Cake
          petit fours
Strawberry Shortcake with real whipped cream (make your own)
          Make your own sundae bar
Chocolate Fountain with strawberries, pretzels, assorted things

Thanks guys, but didn't mention a couple of things, that would narrow it down.

My sister wants an American Brunch place, with a buffet.

Are there any out there? I have been doing a search for a while now and the
places for these requirements are few and far between.

I am about to give up.

I don't mind traveling and I have a GPS, but think that Boston and Cambridge might be
            outrageous price wise and parking.

About $20 dollars a person would be in my price range.
