Need recommendations - quiet, Hell's Kitchen/Theater District - Sweet Emily's?

Looking for light fare w/drinks in the area...prefer a place that will not be watching the ballgame...I'm a Yankees fan, but have to forego that tonight.

Any cuisine and preferably not pricey.

Anybody have experience with Sweet Emily's? I've heard it's very quiet after 8pm curtain.

I have not been to Sweet Emily's, but I very much enjoy Kyotofu in the same area. It's not quiet, exactly, but you will certainly not need to scream to be heard. Walk-ins are possible, but reservations are probably a good idea if you want to make sure you have a table. Lots of small plates, decent wine list and a good cocktail / soju / sake selection.

Casellula is also a wonderful place, further west, for small plates and wonderful wine and cheese lists. The downside is that you cannot make reservations for couples and around 8 p.m. there might be a wait.

Finally, Le Bonne Soup is not a bad option. Food is not very exciting (to me), but prices are fair and quality is reasonable.
