I am new to Queens and am wondering if anyone knows of any local-food-oriented places in the borough...I've heard of a few places emphasizing local ingredients, like Vesta in Astoria and Quaint in Sunnyside. Anybody know of others?

I think that is incredibly hard to find in Queens, for a lot of different reasons. It's really too bad...but anyways, the closest thing I can think of is Danny Brown in Forest Hills on Metropolitan Ave. Their philosophy is "market driven" so they change their menu but whether it's sourced locally is not totally clear. That all said, they turn out great food.
