Any good eats in Oberlin, OH or W. Detroit?

have heard decent things about weia teia (the sister restaurant wild mango is really good) and very good things about black river cafe in oberlin. never been to either.

Black River Cafe has great pancakes. That's all I've ever eaten there but I would guess the other food is good. I did have dinner there once but I don't think they're open for dinner any more.

Co-sign on Modern Food. & Spirits. My friends were a little off put because the table they wanted to sit at was being saved for a regular but not specifically reserved, (i was embarrassed it bothered them enough to comment) but the food was excellent.

Speaking of the town I grew up in, The Red Coat Tavern, which has the reputation of having some of the finest burgers in the Metro Detroit area, has taken over or is about to take over for Zinc on Orchard Lake just South of Maple. Unfortunately, the area is a construction nightmare at present.

You'll need reservations for The Lark if you go there, if you can get them. It's a set menu and it's very expensive.
