pear/peach butter: your ideas for putting it to use...

I canned a thick pear/peach butter about a month ago and am now not sure what to do with it besides smear it on toast. What do you do with your fruit butters? What cheeses do you pair it with? Other ideas?

    these should get you started:

      put some atop oatmeal, pancakes or waffles

      fill crepes along with a little ricotta or mascarpone

      glaze chicken or pork

      top toasted brioche with some chopped toasted pecans

      melt with a little butter and top vanilla ice cream

      add to bran muffin recipe or as filling afterward - you can replace the fat in baked goods with your butter

      sub for jam in linzer cookie recipes

      Monte Cristos

      Hand Pies - take premade pie dough, cut into rounds, put on a couple of dollops of butter, then fold dough over and crimp edges, glaze with egg mixed with a little milk and sprinkle with sugar, then bake for 20 min at 375

      add with some mustard, raisins and pepper to baked beans

        I used to stick a half a cup or so of my spicy pear butter into my chewy ginger cookies (the recipe is on epicurious, and calls for ginger fresh, candied and ground, and molasses, YUM). I didn't reduce the butter, either! They rocked.

        It's also nice stirred into hot cereal.
