The Olive Oil Boutique (yonge and lawrence)

ksapd Oct 8, 2009 12:33 PM

I walk by this place in the morning on way to work (closed) and on way home from work (closed). It looks interesting but I have yet to go inside. Occassionally in the evening they have a very large table set down the middle of the store set for a large party. What is this place about and any comments?

I purchased a soup and sandwich and found it really overpriced. The prices are not all listed so beware because $13.99 for a bowl of mediocre soup is ridiculous. The service also left something to be desired. I've never experience such pushy and aggressive service in a restaurant; the lady literally told me what I was ordering and then made my order before I consented. I will certainly avoid this place in the future.

Slightly off topic but there's an olive oil store across from Williams-Sonoma in Sherway Gardens that has a really interesting selection. Twice now we've purchased some Turkish cold pressed olive oil from them that's absolutely fabulous, probably the fruitiest olive oil I've ever tasted.

Tried the minestrone soup and had a sandwich there... was good for a mid-afternoon snack!
