Park Avenue Autumn -- Review

Last night I had a very good dinner at Park Avenue Autumn. Decor for the autumn is lovely. Service was very attentive. Bread basket was very yummy (I asked them to bring another). Wine list priced fairly. Favorite dishes: gnocchi, scallops, potato latkes, and carrot cake with brie. Lobster was flavorful, though a bit small in portion size (need to remove it from its shell--tough when you're wearing silk). Restaurant was very full even before 8 p.m. Turned out to be a good choice for a business dinner. Bottom line: I'd return (just wouldn't order the lobster).

Hopefully, they are getting their act together. I have been there three times.
I have found the food to be very good but except for the first time I was there, the service is about as bad as I've experienced in NYC.
The last time we were there with a large group at Easter, the service was so poor, I vowed I would never go back.
One of the times, we told the acting manager.

Nice review, ellenost. The gnocchi and potato latkes sound particularly enticing. :)

thanks for the review. i used to live on 63rd st and walk by this restaurant all the time when it first opened. the reason i never went there was because i saw that it was the same restaurant group as S&W so i was wary about the food. it looks like i'll have to add it back on my list of places to try.

          ellenost,

Glad to hear that you enjoyed Park Avenue Autumn. Those potato latkes are definitely delish and so popular that they're on the menu no matter the season.
