Smoked Ham Hocks? Where to buy in Brooklyn?

Does anyone know where I can get smoked ham hocks in Brooklyn (or downtown Manhattan)? Thanks for your help.

  1. A lot of ordinary supermarkets, especially non-upscale, for example key food, pathmark etc, in neighborhoods that serve african american, hispanic or immigrant populations carry smoked ham hocks. I think eagle provisions has them too.

Jubilat Polish butcher/smokehouse on 5th ave next to the Prospect Expwy is the one-stop shop for the best version of all that sort of thing. Great fresh and smoked sausage, fresh meat, sauerkraut, pickles, fantastic stuffed cabbage on Thursday evenings too. Hey today's Thursday! I may head over there myself.

Funny thing is that I just called them and they said that they didn't have them. Should I be using a different name?

Try Esposito Pork Store on Court Street.

    2. Carolina Country Store on Atlantic Ave by Saratoga Ave.

      1. I think the met food on smith st carries them.

yeah, you really dont need to go any place fancy for this. - I think our Met on Vanderbilt has it too - I suspect you just want a piece of seasoning meat.

        2. Agreed that you can usually find them in regular supermarkets, but I also know that you can usually get them at the flying pigs farm stand at the Grand Army Plaza greenmarket on Saturdays.

          1. The Flying Pigs ones are great, and taste much better (ie not chemical smoke) than the ones available at regular grocery stores. That said, both the Key Food and the Associated on 5th Ave in Park Slope regularly have them.

Flying Pigs is at a bunch of Greenmarkets, various days of the week...GAP is Saturday. I think they're in Ft Greene on Sunday...better confirm that on their website tho...
